Coop’s compassion in the midst of COVID pandemic, A King MPC Story
As part of our Cooperative Social Responsibility and to answer CDA’s call for action in the exercise of Coop Principle #7: “Concern for Community as an agent of change through coop participation.”
And as our way of celebrating our 39th Founding Anniversary to promote our cooperative’s culture and tradition. This year, we celebrate it by providing food packs to our front liners who are fighting against COVID – 19 Pandemic in our area of operations. King MPC was able to give a total of 2,098 food packs.
Above all, with the approval of the Board of Directors. King MPC were able to extend a COVID Financial Assistance amounting to THREE HUNDRED PESOS EACH (Php 300.00) to its Members in Good Standing (MIGS) a financial provision to augment purchase of basic necessities of affected King MPC members to mitigate adverse effect on the reduction of their income by the pandemic.
Simultaneously, as we work for the sustainable development of our communities by showing genuine concern and the commitment to make it thrive as a second nature as of a cooperative business. King MPC Valencia Branch answer its call to support the LGU on COVID – 19 by providing hygiene kits for 1, 160 households of Brgy. Lumbayao, Valencia City as identified by the LGU. This barangay has already a positive case of COVID – 19 and dearly in need of help.
In the same way, King MPC also happily extended financial support to Model Cooperative Network (MCN), a federation to which King MPC is a member, to defray expenses of the temporary shelter for the SPMC Hospital front liners in Davao City. At the forefront of the project is the Ateneo de Davao Employees Credit Coop and UKC Multipurpose Cooperative.
